Orange peel stich patter

Hi, I’m Carolyn and I love Patchwork and Quilting, whether I’m teaching, creating or designing - my love of fabric and thread inspires everything I do…

I have enjoyed crafts and sewing since childhood and was introduced to the wonderful world of Patchwork & Quilting by my Auntie Shirley.  This love of creating quilts soon developed into a passion, and unexpectedly led me to a new career as a Patchwork & Quilting tutor in 2019.

I teach weekly and monthly classes at Sew & So’s of Bungay and workshops throughout Suffolk and further afield.  I am also a Longarm Quilting Educator for Pinhole Quilting, located in Worcestershire, teaching workshops and demonstrating at Quilt Shows.

Longarm Quilting

Lots of thread bobbins in a cabinet

I have a HandiQuilter Amara Longarm Quilting Machine (with ProStitcher computerised carriage) on a 12 foot quilt frame.  This enables me to professionally quilt any size Patchwork Quilt, and I have over four years’ experience in providing a longarm service to my wonderful customers.

Receiving a quilt top from a customer to longarm quilt is an immense privilege and we offer a wide range of Edge-to-Edge quilt patterns and a rainbow of thread colours to choose from.

Emily joins the team

Due to a high demand for the customer quilting service, Emily joined me at Sew Suffolk Quilts at the end of 2023 as assistant Longarm Quilter. A keen amateur dressmaker, she soon developed a love of patchwork & quilting and now delivers an exceptionally high standard of Longarm Quilting for our customers.

Paper patterns

Following the success of my workshops and classes, I have now produced high quality printed paper patterns of many of my quilt designs, and these are also available as a PDF downloads.

When I’m not teaching

When I am not teaching, you will find me in my sewing room or quilting studio in the beautiful countryside of Suffolk or pottering around the lanes on a dog walk.  I also firmly believe that a good cup of tea resolves everything – especially when the bobbin runs out!!
