Happy Longarm Customers
I'm delighted with the results
Once my quilt top was finished I knew just the person to finish it off using long arm quilting. I had seen Carolyn’s work on friends quilts and was so impressed as to how it gave the quilts such a professional finish. I was more than happy for her to choose thread colour and quilting pattern and am delighted with the results. I now have another quilt ready for her expertise

Wonderful long arming service
I wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to you for providing such a wonderful long arming service. Over the past 3 years you have taken care of many quilts which there have been a variety of sizes and styles. You have always offered guidance and suggestions regarding pantograph options together with thread colour. Turnaround times are set and met; you have even managed to squeeze in the odd quilt at very short notice for which I have been very grateful.
I wish you all the success with your new venture, I’m sure you’ll get a keen following, not that you need any help you already have many admirers.

Carolyn is in love with her work and very talented
When first meeting Carolyn it is apparent that she is in love with her work and very talented. I am a repeat customer and have learned to trust her advice and experience, she has a natural eye for colour and what works but lets you make the final choices. You will be absolutely delighted with the finish and can’t wait to start another.

I have been delighted Carolyn's work
Carolyn has quilted three quilts for me and I have been delighted with all of them . The first one I visited her studio and spent some time choosing design and thread, but the other two I completely left it all to Carolyn, with fantastic results. I have no hesitation in recommending her work.

Carolyn is a professional in every way
I took a Liberty quilt to Carolyn a little over a year ago and recently she had my precious hand sewn hexagon flower quilt . On both occasions she took the time to go through the quilting options with me and I left feeling happy and confident that I had been able to explore all the possibilities and that I had chosen the best pattern for my quilt top. I was very pleased with the results.
Carolyn is a professional in every way - her sewing knowledge and skills are first rate and she also has the gift of ensuring her customer’s wishes are a priority. I wouldn’t take or send my quilts anywhere else .

How To Prepare Your Quilt Top For Longarming
Our Longarm Quilting Service transforms your beautiful patchwork into a finished quilt – ready to keep a loved one toasty warm in bed, offer a quilty hug to someone in need or simply for you to admire and enjoy… We offer a wide variety of quilt designs to enhance every project from a simple throw to an intricate family heirloom. We have quilted every type of patchwork from hexagon quilts that have taken decades to create to last minute baby quilts for an early arrival!
Quilting on a Longarm Quilting machine and frame is very different to using a domestic machine. The quilt backing fabric is first loaded onto two rollers (front and back) which keeps the quilt smooth and straight, then the wadding is placed onto the backing and stitched to secure in place. Finally, the patchwork quilt top is loaded onto the frame and stitched in place on all four sides. Once all of the layers are in place, the quilting can begin!
The quilting service we provide is an all-over Edge to Edge design. This means that the quilt pattern overlaps the actual quilt on all four sides, so there is no gap between the edge of the quilt and the quilt design.
Please include your contact details including your full name, phone number and email address plus any additional information, quilt pattern and/or thread choices when leaving your quilt top with us for Longarm Quilting
DO NOT baste your quilt - the backing fabric, wadding & quilt top are loaded on to the quilting frame in 3 separate layers
All quilting will be “Edge to Edge” – this means that the quilting pattern will cover the entire quilt with the pattern stitching over the edge of the quilt top on all four sides
You can choose the quilting design and thread colour of your choice – or leave the decision up to us
All thread is included in the cost of quilting – we use a very high quality 40weight Glide thread with a coordinating bobbin colour
Backing fabric MUST be at least 6” bigger on all four sides (i.e. if the quilt top is 50” square the Backing Fabric must be 62” square). If your backing fabric is bigger (e.g. 108” extra wide backing fabric) please do not cut this down to size - the more backing fabric provided the better for attaching to the frame (all surplus fabric will, of course, be returned to you)
If Backing Fabric is joined together, please use a ¾” seam allowance and press open the seam to reduce bulk
If your fabric is directional, please pin a note to the top of the fabric (and backing fabric if applicable) to indicate the top of the quilt
Wadding must be at least 4” bigger than the quilt top (i.e. if the quilt top is 50” square the wadding must be at least 58”). If the wadding is bigger, please do not trim (we will return all surplus wadding to you). Wadding should be a cotton, cotton/poly, bamboo or bamboo/cotton mix (we do not accept 100% polyester wadding for quilting due to the high loft and unpredictable bounce resulting in poor quality stitching – please contact us if you are unsure)
All quilts will be trimmed to the edge of the patchwork top once quilted. This means that the quilt is ready to be bound when you receive it. Please inform us if you wish to receive your quilt untrimmed and straight off the frame
Please be aware that we will do our very best to avoid any tucks or wrinkles occurring in the quilting, however, if there is excess fullness in your quilt top or borders as a result of the piecing and/or construction, we cannot be held responsible for any imperfections in the quilting. We will always contact you if there are any obvious issues before we start quilting
Remove any loose threads from your patchwork as dark threads can show through light coloured fabrics and are extremely difficult to remove once quilted
Ensure that all pins are removed – if the longarm machine hits a forgotten pin it can result in serious (& costly) damage to the machine and could also tear your quilt top
We can supply wadding (Bamboo/Cotton mix) if required at additional cost
Binding service also available – please email for more details
